Examples of Good Reference Photos
What makes a great reference photo?
To paint your beloved companion I will need a photo to reference. I will be painting your pet exactly how they look in that photo so it’s important that:
The photo must be bright and well-lit
No nighttime photos
But also not too bright (for example, when the photo looks really washed out)
Your pet needs to be clearly visible in the photo
Photo cannot be blurry
Pet cannot be oddly cropped out (parts of its face are not in the photo)
Pet needs to be prominent in the photo. (for example, not pictured too far away)

Sometimes we have funny pictures we love of our pets, but not all of them are great references. These photos above are not great references for me because I can’t really see the pets in them very well.
